AL's - Special Edition 'Armchair' Shoe - Size 7.5 Wide
“My 48th birthday and I love them to bits. I'd had the idea for months and eventually bought the armchair from an Antique Dealer in Aberaeron. The covering was well worn but the back of the chair was in perfect condition. So I carefully took the studs out and cut out the Uppers and replaced the holes with Olive Green leather and nailed it back and made the slippers.”

These OriginAL Shoes were made by our founder and creator of Shandals® - Alan James Raddon. They are part of Alan’s final collection which he meticulously made in his career spanning over 45 years before he passed away in 2021. Our Original Shoes are designed to be broad at the toe box to allow your toes to move freely around. The arch is fitted so your foot is held firmly into the back of the shoe. We make our Shoes to be as close as possible to barefoot - most people say it feels like you are wearing nothing on your feet. Our Shoes have been specially designed to be instantly comfortable as soon as you put them on, but as with all leather they will soften the more you wear them and very soon you will find your footprint embeds into the sole and they become ‘yours’.

Fully lined in soft, supple brown leather.
Handmade leather laces to match.
Double outsole stitched.
Repairable Rope soles.

Upper/inner sole: Soft Full-grain Leather and suede.
Outsole Material: Rubber (fully replaceable when it wears down)
These shoes are handmade to be instantly comfortable as soon as you put them on.
The jute rope soles are made from 200 feet of twine plaited into two square eight plait ropes which are sewn into soles, then invisibly stitched to the uppers.
They are designed to be worn, cherished and last a lifetime.
