AL’s Collection

With a career spanning over 45 years, Designer : Shoemaker Alan James Raddon made hundreds of Shoes and Shandals® for people all over the world including Billy Connolly, Sir Alec Guinness, Diana Athill and Emma Thompson. Working from his quaint workshop at home by the sea in Aberarth, West Wales, Alan’s home workshop was a bewitching extension of his personality, where he always welcomed good company and random conversation. Eccentric, flamboyant, generous, supportive, compassionate and inspirational, he will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.

His deep rooted philosophy of healing through the feet is the core principle behind his designs. He leaves behind a unique legacy and continues to be an inspiration to many. His final collection of Shoes are for sale below - we will be adding to this collection as we continue to document his life work. Alan’s Shoes, Shandals® and Rope soled slippers are still being made today as we continue his work.

This final collection is the living legacy Alan left behind. Some of the Rope sole pairs are exceptionally rare and are one of a kind pieces which sell for around £1,500.

Alan meticulously signed and dated every single pair he made - your Shoes will come with a signed and dated keyring to match.
